Illustrating the reciprocal anatomical relationship between the artery and vein, as well as the basic functions of the venous valves, this model, magnified 14 times, contains a medium-size muscular artery with two adjacent veins from the antebrachial area, along with adjoining fat tissue and muscle. The left vein and middle artery lie in the upper anterior segment to show the layers of the wall structure from cross and longitudinal sections, as well as from a top view. The right vein is opened in the anterior segment to reveal the orifice of the feeder vein and two venous valves. The back of the model has a relief of two veins, and depicts the venous valves’ functions.
